New News

Shawn is looking at dates for the Cozumel trip.  Have you started your savings yet?  You won't want to miss this year's trip.  Contact Arizona Scuba (783-1177) for more details and possible dates.

While diving with new students, Shawn reports a large and friendly pipe fish in the eel grass in Mission Bay that wrapped itself around his fingers.  Pipe fish are related to Sea Horses and hang vertically to blend in and hide from prey and are hard to spot.

30 students, some new, some repeats, completed their First Aid, CPR and AED training in December in classes held by Jeff.  For more information or to sign up for a class call Arizona Scuba (783-1177).

Great Old News

(Summer 2011) Too many sea lions to count on the last Los Coronado Islands boat trip.  Up close and personal, many times nose to nose.  They tugged at fins and hoses wanting to play.  Water was clear and comfortable.  The boat, the Humboldt, features new low pressure steel 80's that are slightly heavier so you don't need to carry as much weight.

NEW PADI OPEN WATER BOOKS are in the shop.

Scuba classes are starting every month.  CPR classes starting too.
Check with Shawn for more upcoming classes.
Remember, rental gear is included for use in all open water classes and certification trips.  But make sure right sized gear is in stock.  Call or stop by.

Missed you in Cozumel last summer.  Start a savings account for next year.  Start it NOW.

(Summer 2011) Discover Scuba for United Way was very well attended again this year.  The fun didn't stop for the entire 4 hours the event was running.  The public showed up in great numbers to support this worthwhile effort.  United Way officials were on hand and were pleased with the contributions.  A great big thank you to all those who were participants, volunteers and assistants.  But you don't have to wait till next summer to have more fun, contact the store, 783-1177, and find out about classes and what is happening next.

The summer 2011 United Way Discover Scuba will be June 25th at Kennedy Pool. Remember this is FREE and we only ask for a donation to the United Way, it's not a requirement to participate.  But folks have been so generous and the event so popular it has always been a great fund raiser.  So, see you there.  Open to all those wanting to try Scuba and to already certified divers wanting to get wet and meet other divers.  Equipment will be there to use but you are welcome to bring you own.

The 2010 United Way Discover Scuba Fund raising event was a great success.  Despite the cool weather, economy and holiday weekend, it was one of the most well attended events to date.  A BIG THANKS goes to all those who dontated time and money to the cause.  100% of the donations goes to United Way of Yuma.  (It all stays in Yuma, how cool is that?)
